Kuwait is a desert country where sandstorms are very common. Occurrences of allergenic rhinitis is very common after the dust storm events. The study characterizes the bacterial and fungal populations present in the air-borne dust in the environments of Kuwait. It also focuses to establish correlation between the identified population and the incidences of allergenic rhinitis in the country.

科威特为沙漠国家，沙尘暴极为频发。沙尘暴事件过后，变应性鼻炎（allergenic rhinitis）的发病情况十分常见。本研究对科威特环境中气载粉尘中的细菌与真菌群落特征进行了表征，同时旨在明确所鉴定的菌群与该国变应性鼻炎发病情况之间的相关性。
