Whole genome sequencing to determine surface layer protein A (SlpA) gene sequence.. Characterisation of Clostridium difficile surface layer proteins.

The primary aim of this study was to confirm the sequences of the surface layer protein-encoding gene SlpA in two clinical C. diffcile strains of interest. Innate immune responses to surface layer proteins from these strains were characterised. The strains included strains belonging to ribotypes 027 and 078 which were isolated from symptomatic patients at St. James's Hospital, Dublin, Ireland in 2011.

本研究的首要目标为确认两株目标临床艰难梭菌（C. difficile）体内表面层蛋白编码基因SlpA的序列。针对上述菌株来源的表面层蛋白所引发的固有免疫应答，本研究开展了系统表征分析。所纳入的菌株包含核糖体型（ribotype）027与078型菌株，上述菌株均于2011年从爱尔兰都柏林圣詹姆斯医院的有症状患者体内分离得到。
