资源简介:

This deposit holds the code, data, and supplementary files for the bibliometric review: > Goes, E. R., Brown, C. J., & Medeiros de Araújo, T. C. (2026).> *A science mapping of oil spill response research from 1971 to 2025: Implications for the benthic environment*. Environmental Monitoring and Assessment (under review). We mapped 55 years of oil spill response (OSR) research using 1,266 articles indexed in Scopus (1971–2025) and cross-referenced them with the NOAA Incident Database on potential spill volumes. The benthic angle is the focus. What's inside - `oil_spill_bibliometric_analysis.ipynb` — Jupyter notebook (Python 3.11) that runs the full pipeline: cleaning, deduplication, period assignment, geospatial integration, outlier detection, and figure generation.- `supplementary_materials/ESM_1.csv` ... `ESM_19.xlsx` — 19 files, cited in the manuscript as Online Resources 1–19: - ESM_1, ESM_2: raw Scopus retrievals (general + benthic subset) - ESM_3–9: refined datasets, split across five 11-year intervals (1971–1981, 1982–1992, 1993–2003, 2004–2014, 2015–2025) - ESM_10, ESM_11: stopword list and bibliometrix thesaurus - ESM_12: VOSviewer thesaurus - ESM_13: NOAA incident dataset (4,816 records) - ESM_14–18: top 30 most frequent words per interval - ESM_19: top 30 most frequent words for the benthic subset- `outputs/figures/` — the 11 PNG figures used in the manuscript- `README.md` — full file descriptions and step-by-step reproduction guide Reproducing the analysis Start from ESM_1, ESM_2, and ESM_13 (the three input datasets) and run the notebook end-to-end; it regenerates ESM_3–9 and all PNGfigures. Word-frequency tables (ESM_14–19) come from a separate R workflow using bibliometrix (Aria & Cuccurullo, 2017) through theBiblioshiny interface, as described in the manuscript's *Materials and methods* section. Data sources Scopus records were retrieved in January 2026 with the search string `"oil spill prevention" OR "oil spill preparedness" OR "oil spillresponse" OR "oil spill restoration"`, restricted to articles and reviews. The benthic subset adds `AND "benthic"`. Scopus content inESM_1 and ESM_2 follows Elsevier's end-user terms. NOAA incident records were obtained from the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA, 2026), accessed in January 2026from https://incidentnews.noaa.gov/raw/index.
