In this study, a quantitative research method was used. Quantitative research involves examining social phenomena by analyzing numerically expressed data and revealing the cause-and-effect relationships between these phenomena (Karasar, 2002). To determine the relationship between social skills and repetitive behaviors in individuals with autism spectrum disorder, the correlational research method—one of the quantitative research methods—was employed. Correlational studies are conducted to gather clues in order to determine relationships between two or more variables without attempting to establish a causal connection (Büyüköztürk et al., 2020). In order to collect data for this study, the Turkish versions of the Autism Social Skills Profile (ASSP-TV) and the Repetitive Behavior Scale-Revised (RBS-R-TV) were used. In addition, all participants were provided with a participant consent form.
本研究采用定量研究方法。定量研究指通过分析数值化数据考察社会现象,并揭示此类现象间的因果关系(Karasar,2002)。为探究自闭症谱系障碍个体的社交技能与重复性行为之间的关联,本研究采用了定量研究方法中的相关研究法。相关研究旨在收集线索以确定两个或多个变量间的关联,而非建立因果联系(Büyüköztürk等,2020)。为收集本研究所需数据,本研究使用了自闭症社交技能量表(Autism Social Skills Profile, ASSP-TV)土耳其语版与修订版重复行为量表(Repetitive Behavior Scale-Revised, RBS-R-TV)土耳其语版。此外,所有参与者均签署了受试者知情同意书。
