This is the feature service linked to the survey123 survey used by those surveying diversions and their structures for aquatic organism passage within inland waters (non-tidal). Diversions often contain a low-head dam type of structure and a diversion ditch/channel. This form is designed to collect information on both types of elements of a water diversion. The data collected within this form is used in SARP's Aquatic Barrier Prioritization Tool (https://connectivity.sarpdata.com). This data layer can be used to better understand the specific information associated with fish passage including photos for points surveyed<div><br /></div><div>Water diversions are points along a stream where water is diverted from the free flowing stream into nearby fields. To divert water, irrigators will dig a ditch along the stream and often build an in stream dam/structure to impound the water so it flows into the ditch. Not only can fish and other organisms not pass upstream, but they can get caught in ditches and be trapped, unable to get out. These diversions present issues for species in aquatic systems and identifying their location aids in identifying potential restoration projects and landowner partnership opportunities.</div>
