Five SOFAR Spotter drifting buoys were deployed to measure trajectory and waves in the marginal ice zone during the MR20 Arctic Ocean expeditions on board R/V Mirai. The buoys were deployed on 13 and 17 October 2020. A wave event was measured between 16 and 17 October. The wind directions over the buoys were southeasterly, but the measured wave directions were southwest. The wave event is a useful dataset for studying oblique wave propagation into the MIZ. The buoys collected data until the end of October when the device's battery ran out.
