The Russian River Watershed (RRW) covers about�1300�square miles�(without Santa Rosa Plain)�of urban, agricultural, and forested lands in northern Sonoma County and southern Mendocino County, California. Communities in the RRW�depend on a combination of Russian River water and groundwater to meet their water-supply demands. Water is used primarily for agricultural irrigation, municipal and private wells supply, and commercial uses - such as for wineries and recreation. Annual rainfall in the RRW is highly variable, making it prone to droughts and flooding from atmospheric river events.�In order to better understand surface-water and groundwater issues, the USGS is creating a�Coupled Ground-Water and Surface-Water Flow Model (GSFLOW; Markstrom and others, 2008)�of the RRW. This model will include climate, geology, surface-water, groundwater, and land-use data. This data release contains 2 shapefiles used in the Russian River Integrated Hydrologic Model (RRIHM). These shapefiles are: 1) groundwater wells (with measured ground water levels), and 2) streamflow gages. It also includes a comma separated values (CSV) file of measured daily streamflow (in cubic feet per second).
俄罗斯河流域(Russian River Watershed, RRW)地处美国加利福尼亚州索诺马县北部与门多西诺县南部,覆盖约1300平方英里(不含圣罗莎平原)的城市、农业与林地。该流域内的社区依托俄罗斯河水与地下水的联合供给满足用水需求,用水场景主要涵盖农业灌溉、市政与私人水井供水,以及酒庄运营、休闲娱乐等商业用途。流域内年降雨量波动剧烈,极易因大气河(atmospheric river)事件引发干旱与洪涝灾害。为更好地厘清地表水与地下水相关水文问题,美国地质调查局(United States Geological Survey, USGS)正在构建俄罗斯河流域的耦合地下水与地表水流动模型(Coupled Ground-Water and Surface-Water Flow Model, GSFLOW; Markstrom等,2008)。该模型将纳入气候、地质、地表水、地下水与土地利用等多维度数据。本次数据发布包含俄罗斯河流域综合水文模型(Russian River Integrated Hydrologic Model, RRIHM)所使用的2个形状文件(shapefiles):1)带有实测地下水位数据的地下水井点位数据集,2)河道流量监测站数据集;同时还附带一份以立方英尺每秒为单位的实测日径流量逗号分隔值(comma separated values, CSV)文件。
