This dataset is a compositional dataset of biotite and amphibole from the Hengduan Mountains. Biotite is the most prevalent dark-colored rock-forming mineral in granitoids. Amphibole mainly consists of two categories: calcic amphibole and alkalic amphibole, among which calcic amphibole has a wide distribution and is the key research target of this section. Their chemical compositions are closely correlated with the physico-chemical conditions during their formation. This dataset mainly focuses on the studies of geological occurrences, physical properties and chemical compositions of biotite and amphibole in granitoids from the Hengduan Mountains, as well as the analyses of trace elements, structural characteristics, infrared spectral features and differential thermal analysis of these two minerals, so as to reveal the genesis of granitoids in the Hengduan Mountains and provide evidence for the research on the origin of granitoids.
