Lake Shoreline Erosion Hazard

Last data update: May 26, 2024 This layer is a polygon feature showing the delineation of the Lake Simcoe Shoreline Erosion Hazard. It shows the extent of the erosion hazard around the shoreline of Lake Simcoe extending landward. In the event of a discrepancy between this delineation and the text of the applicable regulation, the text of the applicable regulation shall prevail. These elevations and dataset are based in CGVD28. This layer was produced by W.F. Baird & Associates Coastal Engineers Ltd. in conjunction with the Lake Simcoe Shoreline Hazard mapping Final Report, dated April 4, 2024.

As outlined in Section 7.2 of the Lake Simcoe Shoreline Hazard Mapping Final Report, dated April 4, 2024, the delineation of the erosion hazard uses an erosion rate of 0.15 m/year, based on 100 years of erosion and a stable slope allowance of 3H:1V.
