With the growing deployment of surveillance cameras in modern urban areas, a large volume of video data can be collected. Meanwhile, there is a scarcity of human resources tasked with monitoring all these surveillance screens. We are investigating how to apply video understanding technologies to detect violent incidents, so as to trigger timely and rapid police alerts.
