Dataset 1: Cereal yield and yield stability Dataset 1 compiles 58 field experiments reported in 48 peer‑reviewed articles published between 1986 and 2024. The studies span 19 countries and 10 European environmental zones, with annual precipitation ranging from approximately 300 to 1,800 mm and mean annual temperatures from 2.6 to 20 °C. Each record includes geo‑referencing information, soil characteristics, climatic variables, experimental design details, cropping practices, agronomic management, and yield statistics (means, standard deviations (SD), and sample sizes in years). Derived variables include effect sizes on yield (ln R) and the relative coefficient of temporal yield variation (as inverse measure of yield stability), (ln CVR), their variances, random‑effects weights, 95% confidence intervals, percentage change attributable to CA relative to CONV. Dataset 2: N₂O emissions Dataset 2 compiles 11 field experiments conducted across 8 countries and 5 environmental zones, with N₂O monitoring periods ranging from 79 to 365 days. These studies were published in 11 peer‑reviewed scientific articles between 2003 and 2018. The dataset contains the same core variables as Dataset 1, and additionally specifies the measurement season (growing season vs. full year) and the crop grown during the measurement year. Outcome variables include cumulative N₂O emission means, standard deviations (SDs), and sample sizes (replicates). Derived metrics comprise the log response ratio for N₂O (ln RN₂O), its variance, random‑effects weights, 95% confidence limits, p‑values, and the percentage change in N₂O emissions under CA relative to CONV.
