File S1_Supplementary, contains the details of quantifying beak, leg and egg yellowness. File S1 also contains Figure S1 , S2 and S3, as well as supplementary table S1 and S2. Supplementary_dataset contains gene expression levels, skin and egg yolk coloration, as well as HPLC results for carotenoid measurement. In this dataset "m" represent male and f stands for female. For genotype AA represent the derived and GG represent the ancestral BCO2 allele.
