South China Sea IW Map in Zhao et al (2004)

A set of internal solitary waves (ISWs) are observed in satellite images acquired from 1995 to 2001. The collection shows the northwestward propagation of 116 ISWs from the Luzon Strait to Dongsha Island. This data set is used to plot Figure 1 in Zhao et al (2004 GRL), which for the first time reveals the internal tide origin of ISWs in the northeastern South China Sea.
