The goal of this study is to evaluate the potential protective effects of flavonoids, which exist in Chinese propolis, on ethanol-induced injury in HepG2 cells. This in vitro study investigated the produce of ROS, inflammation related factors, and DNA damage induced by ethanol, as well as the alterations of transcription profiles. The underlying mechanisms associated with the beneficial effects of flavonoids on ethanol-induced injuries were analyzed, which might provide evidence for the practical use of flavonoids in the intervene and treatment of ethanol-induced liver injuries.

本研究旨在评估中国蜂胶中所含黄酮类化合物(flavonoids)对乙醇诱导的HepG2细胞损伤的潜在保护作用。本体外实验考察了乙醇诱导产生的活性氧(ROS)、炎症相关因子与DNA损伤情况,同时分析了转录谱(transcription profiles)的变化。本研究进一步剖析了黄酮类化合物发挥保肝效用的潜在分子机制,可为黄酮类化合物用于乙醇诱导性肝损伤的干预与治疗提供科学依据。
