Study aims & design
We radio-tagged 147 European grayling (Thymallus thymallus) in the lowest 3 km of the River Vöckla, Upper Austria, upstream of its confluence with the River Ager. Fish were surgically implanted with individually coded NanoTags (Lotek NTF-3-2, 150.360 MHz) to compare movement behaviour and survival among three groups: (i) hatchery-reared fish acclimatised in perforated steel river cages for one week prior to release (n = 40), (ii) hatchery-reared fish released directly without acclimatisation (n = 50), and (iii) wild fish captured by electrofishing from the study reach (n = 57). All fish were released simultaneously on 16 April 2025. Fish were monitored over 14 weeks (April–July 2025) and 33 mobile tracking surveys conducted by cycling along the riverbank.

研究目标与设计
