The Annual Energy Outlook 2025 (AEO2025) examines potential long-term energy trends in the United States. AEO2025 is released pursuant to Section 205c of the Department of Energy Organization Act of 1977 (Public Law 95-91), which mandates the Administrator of the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) to prepare an annual report covering energy consumption and supply trends and forecasts. These forecasts are utilized by federal, state, and local governments, industries, trade associations, and other planners and decision-makers across both public and private sectors.
