Identifying genomic alterations that precede tumourigenesis of breast tumours will allow us to better understand tumour development and heterogeneity. In particular, by obtaining and profiling normal-epithelium samples at various distances from the tumour, we can draft both a spatial and temporal map of the genomic events and transcriptomic alterations that occur along the mammary duct (leading up to and including the tumour). Dataset consisting of 9 patients with breast cancer, from which multiple normal epithelium samples were obtained from along the duct leading to the tumour, one sample from the contralateral duct, and a sample from the tumor itself
识别乳腺肿瘤发生(Tumourigenesis)前的基因组变异(Genomic Alterations),可助力我们更深入地理解肿瘤的发生发展与异质性(Heterogeneity)。具体而言,通过获取并分析距离肿瘤不同位置的正常上皮样本,我们能够绘制出沿乳腺导管(从肿瘤发生前直至肿瘤本身)出现的基因组事件与转录组变异(Transcriptomic Alterations)的时空图谱。本数据集共纳入9名乳腺癌患者,从中获取了沿肿瘤所在导管分布的多份正常上皮样本、1份对侧导管样本以及1份肿瘤自身样本。
