Acute inflammation of the pancreas, called pancreatitis, is a common disease in humans and dogs, which can lead to severe systemic consequences. There is no standard method to predict the outcome of the disease. One possible method could be to measure blood serum acute-phase proteins, which the body produces in response to inflammation. Currently, C-reactive protein is the most commonly used acute-phase protein to monitor inflammation during pancreatitis in dogs. Still, other acute-phase proteins, such as serum amyloid A and haptoglobin, have also been suggested for use in dogs. We aimed to compare six acute-phase proteins in 10 dogs during experimental acute pancreatitis to determine the most accurate method for monitoring the disease course. Our results further support that C-reactive protein is the most useful acute-phase protein during monitoring canine acute pancreatitis; the other acute-phase proteins reflected the disease course less precisely. The measurement of serum amyloid A may have some diagnostic potential in this disease, but its role should be further investigated in spontaneous disease cases.
胰腺急性炎症又称胰腺炎(pancreatitis),是人类与犬类的常见疾病,可引发严重的全身性不良后果。目前尚无标准化方法可预测该疾病的转归。一种可行的检测策略为检测血清急性期蛋白(acute-phase proteins)——此类蛋白是机体针对炎症反应合成的防御性物质。当前,C反应蛋白(C-reactive protein)是犬胰腺炎炎症监测中最常用的急性期蛋白,而血清淀粉样蛋白A(serum amyloid A)与结合珠蛋白(haptoglobin)等其他急性期蛋白也被提议应用于犬类胰腺炎的相关检测。本研究旨在对10只实验性急性胰腺炎犬体内的6种急性期蛋白开展对比分析,以筛选出监测疾病进程最为精准的检测方法。研究结果进一步证实,C反应蛋白是犬急性胰腺炎炎症监测中最具应用价值的急性期蛋白,其余急性期蛋白对疾病进程的反映精度相对较低。血清淀粉样蛋白A检测在该疾病中或具备一定诊断潜力,但其临床应用价值仍需在自然发病病例中开展进一步研究。
