Draft genome sequence of the red-pigmented yeast Sporidiobolus salmonicolor CBS 6832. Draft genome of Sporidiobolus salmonicolor

The red-pigmented basidiomycetous yeast Sporidiobolus salmonicolor is known as bio-producer of carotenoids. Here, we report the approximately 20.5 Mb draft genome assembly of the ballistospore-forming strain CBS 6832, consisting of 496 scaffolds containing a total of 5148 predicted open reading frames.

产红色色素的担子菌酵母（basidiomycetous yeast）鲑色掷孢酵母（Sporidiobolus salmonicolor）是已知的类胡萝卜素（carotenoids）生物生产菌株。本研究报道了该物种的掷孢子形成菌株CBS 6832的约20.5 Mb基因组草图组装（draft genome assembly），该组装包含496个支架序列（scaffolds），总计含有5148个预测开放阅读框（open reading frames, ORFs）。
