Saccharum officinarum EST project. Saccharum officinarum

SUCEST in Brazil has undertaken large scale EST project to sequence clones from different tissues of S. officinarum. Sequencing is being done at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas. Aim is to identify 50,000 genes or get 300,000 reads that can be used as a source of markers and will be used to complement the sugarcane molecular map and to study gene expression.

巴西SUCEST项目已启动大规模表达序列标签（Expressed Sequence Tag, EST）测序项目，针对甘蔗（S. officinarum）不同组织的克隆开展测序工作。测序工作由坎皮纳斯州立大学（Universidade Estadual de Campinas）承担。本项目目标为鉴定50000个基因，或获取300000条测序读段；所得序列均可作为分子标记来源，用于补充甘蔗分子图谱并开展基因表达研究。
