For lacking of water, vascular plant usually could not cover well in arid lands, thus, biological soil crusts(BSCs) play essential roles in ecosystem functioning of the desert environments. However, little is known about how the role is played by different developmental stages of BSCs in shaping ecosystem functions under natural condition. In this study, we investigated the relationships among ecosystem multifunctionality (EMF) and developmental stages of BSCs, as well as microorganisms in Gurbantunggut Desert.

由于水资源匮乏,维管植物(vascular plant)通常难以在干旱地区形成良好覆盖,因此生物土壤结皮(biological soil crusts, BSCs)在荒漠生态系统的功能维持中发挥着至关重要的作用。然而,目前学界对自然条件下生物土壤结皮的不同发育阶段如何调控生态系统功能的具体机制仍知之甚少。本研究以古尔班通古特沙漠(Gurbantunggut Desert)为研究区域,探究了生态系统多功能性(ecosystem multifunctionality, EMF)与生物土壤结皮发育阶段以及微生物之间的关联关系。
