Here we provide the final dataset used for analyses in the study Santangeli et al. 2018 Scientific Reports entitled "Synergistic effect of land-use and vegetation greenness on vulture nestling body condition in arid ecosystems".<br>The dataset contains observations from individual vulture nestlings (in each row) of two species in Namibia. The scaled mass index (in grams) is provided along with the year when the measurements for derived the index were taken. Five different NDVI values are also provided. Each refers to a different time lag period prior to nestling measurement, whereby NDVI was averaged across a radius of 50km around the nest (see associated study for more details). The % cover of protected areas within a 50km radius around the nest where the nestling was found and measured is also reported, as well as the identity of the region where the nest located and the species that was measured. Note that the X and Y coordinates of the nest location have been excluded from this dataset due to their sensitivity, therefore the analyses presented in Santangeli et al. cannot unfortunately be fully replicated.<br>
