Genome Sequences of Choline-utilising Methanogenic Archaea, Methanococcoides spp. Isolated from Marine Sediments. Genomes of Choline-utilising Methanogenic Archaea, Methanococcoides spp. from Marine Sediments

The genomes of two Methanococcoides spp. isolated from marine sediments and capable of carrying out methanogenesis from choline and other methylotrophic substrates were sequenced. The average nucleotide identity and DNA-DNA hybridization analyses demonstrate that they are different species to those previously described.

研究人员完成了两株分离自海洋沉积物的产甲烷球菌属（Methanococcoides）菌种的基因组测序，这两株菌种可利用胆碱及其他甲基营养底物进行产甲烷作用。通过平均核苷酸同源性（average nucleotide identity）与DNA-DNA杂交分析证实，该两株菌种与此前已报道的同属菌种分属不同物种。
