Treatment Sequence in Combined Electrical Stimulation and Treadmill Training in Post-Stroke Individuals

 A total of 16 chronic stroke survivors (>1 year after stroke onset) with hemiparesis were recruited in this within-subject (repeated measures) study. All individuals participated in 3 different setups of combined treadmill training and electrical stimulation sessions: (A) electrical stimulation applied before treadmill training (ES-first), (B) electrical stimulation applied after treadmill training (ES-later), (C) simultaneous electrical stimulation and treadmill training (ES-simul-TT). Data for analyzing the corticomuscular coherence (CMC) and gait performance were acquired before and after each session. 

本项受试者内（重复测量）研究共招募16名伴偏瘫的慢性卒中存活者，其卒中发病时长均超过1年。所有受试者均参与3种不同的跑步机训练（treadmill training, TT）与电刺激（electrical stimulation, ES）联合训练方案：(A) 先实施电刺激，再开展跑步机训练（ES-first）；(B) 先开展跑步机训练，再实施电刺激（ES-later）；(C) 电刺激与跑步机训练同步开展（ES-simul-TT）。在每种联合训练方案实施前后，均采集用于分析皮层肌电相干性（corticomuscular coherence, CMC）与步态表现的数据。
