The present study aims at investigating the collocational patterns in COVID-19 anti-vaccination news and comparing the similarities and differences between the Bangkok post and The Diplomat in order to see their representatives in anti-vaccination in COVID-19. The collocational patterns in COVID-19 anti-vaccination news were grouped by the semantic meanings in order to compare the differences and similarities in two publications with the situation of anti-vaccination COVID-19. The results indicated that Bangkok post and The Diplomat online news are quite similar in an overall big picture of the way in conveying the sense of meanings. They both contain convincing messages in terms of negative connotation since their emergency situations. Also, the results of the present study found the favor in vaccine as the image of country and the rejection of getting vaccine.
本研究旨在探究COVID-19反疫苗新闻中的搭配模式,并比较《曼谷邮报》(The Bangkok Post)与《外交家》(The Diplomat)之间的异同,以分析两者在COVID-19反疫苗议题中的代表性。研究将COVID-19反疫苗新闻中的搭配模式按语义分组,以对比两份出版物在COVID-19反疫苗情境下的异同。结果显示,《曼谷邮报》与《外交家》的在线新闻在整体意义传达方式上颇为相似。由于疫情紧急状况的背景,两者均包含带有负面内涵的说服力信息。此外,研究结果还发现,两者均存在将疫苗视为国家形象的倾向,以及对疫苗接种的排斥态度。
