Experimental data from K.A. Bacik, G. Sobota, B.S. Bacik, and T. Rogers, "Order-disorder transition in multidirectional crowds", PNAS, 2025 (Bacik et al. 2025).Two experimental sessions with human participants (83 and 70 subjects, respectively) were conducted to validate a mathematical model of multidirectional crowd dynamics. The research protocol was approved by the Bioethics Committee for Scientific Research at the Academy of Physical Education in Katowice (no. 1/2022/6/23).The participants gathered in a gymnasium arranged into an experimental arena, and they were asked to cross according to personalized itineraries. The motion of the participants was recorded with an overhead camera, and a Apriltag-based algorithm was used to extract their position in time. The details of the experimental protocol can be found in (Bacik et al., 2025) and the accompanying supplementary materials. The files in the repository contain post-processed data that can be used to extract pedestrian trajectories, as well as 5 representative videos.
K.A. Bacik、G. Sobota、B.S.
