This dataset comprises two parts: spatial distribution datasets of remote sensing imagery for larch distribution from 1978 to 2012, and a digital elevation model (DEM) spatial distribution dataset for Northeast China. The remote sensing imagery of larch distribution from 1978 to 2012 is organized into four folders, corresponding to the years 1978, 1990, 2000 and 2012. These are Landsat remote sensing images used to depict the distribution of planted larch forests, providing basic data for studies on planted larch forests. Northeast China includes Liaoning Province, Heilongjiang Province, Jilin Province and the eastern region of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Its geographic coverage is defined as: Longitude: 116°40′E – 134°40′E; Latitude: 38°37′N – 53°25′N. The coordinate system utilized is Krasovsky_1940_Albers.
