Dataset of Habitat Quality Index for Forest World Natural Heritage Properties in the Asia-Pacific Region from 2015 to 2023

生境质量指数可以反映生态承载力和潜在生产力，也可以表明区域生物多样性的程度。对其进行定量评估已成为生态安全监测和生物多样性保护的关键手段。近年来，世界自然遗产地一直面临着生物多样性丧失的严峻挑战，这场危机对自然遗产地的栖息地质量进行了监测和评估提出了迫切的需求。基于Landsat8遥感数据，利用InVEST模型构建了2015—2023年3个时期亚太地区森林型世界自然遗产地生境质量指数数据集，通过控制输入数据质量，保证了研究结果的可靠性。该数据集涵盖了29个森林型世界自然遗产地，包括澳大利亚的冈瓦纳雨林、中国的泰山和泰国的Dong Phayayen-Khao Yai森林综合体。该数据集可用于亚太地区森林型世界自然遗产地生态脆弱区的分析、遗产地可持续发展研究等方面。

Habitat Quality Index (HQI) can reflect ecological carrying capacity and potential productivity, as well as indicate the status of regional biodiversity. Quantitative assessment of HQI has emerged as a critical approach for ecological security monitoring and biodiversity conservation. In recent years, World Natural Heritage Sites (WNHS) have been confronted with severe challenges of biodiversity loss, which has raised an urgent demand for monitoring and evaluating the habitat quality of these heritage sites. Based on Landsat 8 remote sensing data, a Habitat Quality Index dataset for forest-type World Natural Heritage Sites in the Asia-Pacific region across three periods from 2015 to 2023 was constructed using the InVEST model. By controlling the quality of input data, the reliability of the research findings is guaranteed. This dataset covers 29 forest-type World Natural Heritage Sites, including the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia, Mount Tai of China, and the Dong Phayayen-Khao Yai Forest Complex of Thailand. The dataset can be utilized for analyses of ecologically fragile areas of forest-type World Natural Heritage Sites in the Asia-Pacific region, research on sustainable development of heritage sites, and other relevant fields.
