Freshwater Eukaryotes Targeted Locus (Loci). freshwater metagenome

Despite their global distribution and ecological importance, little information about eukaryotic diversity is available from small, shallow and ephemeral freshwater systems. The goal of this project is to study and compare protist diversity in one brook and four shallow ponds located in the Natural Regional Park of the Chevreuse Valley, France. The study is based on the identification and comparison of operational taxonomic units (OTUs) infered from massive pyrosequencing of amplified 18S rRNA gene fragments of protists in the 0.2-5 μm-size range.

尽管小型浅水临时淡水生境在全球范围内广泛分布且具备重要生态功能，但目前针对此类生境的真核生物多样性相关研究数据仍十分有限。本项目旨在对法国谢夫勒兹河谷自然区域公园内的1条溪流与4处浅塘中的原生生物多样性展开研究并进行对比分析。本研究通过对粒径介于0.2 μm至5 μm范围内的原生生物的扩增18S rRNA基因片段实施大规模焦磷酸测序，对由此推导得到的操作分类单元（operational taxonomic units, OTUs）进行鉴定与比对。
