Data for: Soil nitrification increases with elevated phosphorus or soil pH in an acidic mixed mesophytic deciduous forest

Soil pH, nitrate & ammonium pools in addition to nitrification and nitrogen mineralization (i.e., ammonification) rates from 2010 to 2018. Forest soil was sampled from the top 5 cm early in the growing season (mid june to early July) in southeast Ohio, USA (Forest 1&2 are 1 km apart @ 39.349N, -82.267W; Forest 3 @ 39.276N, -82.317W).
