Using Illumina and PacBio technology we sequenced 11 genomes from the fungal orders Ophiostomatales and 1 Microascales to study aspects of fungal farming symbiosis. One of these genomes is that of the laurel wilt pathogen Raffaelea lauricola, responsible for massive death of Red Bay trees in the U.S. South East. We used the resulting data set to produce a well-resolved phylogeny for the Ophiostomatales and dated nodes to determine the age of cultivar lineages.

本研究采用Illumina测序技术(Illumina)与PacBio测序技术(PacBio),对11个来自长喙壳菌目(Ophiostomatales)及1个来自小囊菌目(Microascales)的真菌基因组开展测序,以探究真菌种植共生的相关特征。其中一个基因组来自月枯病病原菌月桂萎蔫病菌(Raffaelea lauricola),该病原菌曾导致美国东南部红湾树大规模死亡。本研究利用所得的测序数据集,构建了分辨率优异的长喙壳菌目系统发育树,并通过对系统发育节点进行定年分析,明确了共生栽培菌株谱系的演化时间。
