Dun Muir - Possible Cup Marked Stone

At first sight this boulder appears to be heavily cup marked. Its location also ticks all the boxes for where you would expect to find such a rock art site. However, closer examination of the 'cup marks' reveals most of them to probably be natural as many have sharp edges to their lips, vertical sides or irregular, even undercut, profiles. Most are on the vertical faces of the boulder which would also be unusual as rock art in Scotland is largely on horizontal surfaces. There is one large, upward facing cup mark on the SW end of the top surface of the stone which, if this was the only such mark on it, would be acceptable as an authentic cup mark. It is possible that this natural 'cup marked' boulder was deliberately moved to this location & maybe enhanced with one or more additional cup marks (there are a couple more tentative possibles). 乍看之下，这块巨砾（boulder）表面布满疑似杯形岩刻（cup mark）痕迹。其所处位置也完全契合这类岩画遗址的典型选址特征。然而，对这些“杯形印记”开展细致检视后发现，其中绝大多数大概率属于自然成因：诸多印记的口沿边缘锐利、侧壁垂直，或轮廓不规则，甚至呈掏挖状。且这些印记大多分布在巨砾的垂直面上，这一点也有悖常规——苏格兰地区的岩画大多刻于水平面之上。仅在该巨砾顶面的西南端，存在一处较大的朝上杯形印记；若仅此一处，尚可认定为人工制作的真品杯形岩刻。该带有自然“杯形印记”的巨砾，有可能被人为搬运至此，并被人工增添了一处或多处杯形印记（另有两处暂未确定的疑似痕迹）。该遗址已被纳入苏格兰岩画项目（Scotland's Rock Art Project, ScRAP）的记录，标注为疑似岩画遗址。相关记录与三维建模工作由Nick Parish为苏格兰岩画项目完成，ScRAP编号为31。数据来源：Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab。
