Grapevine Witch's Broom Bud Sport Genetics

Witch's Broom is a recurring bud sport in grapevine that causes severe developmental defects. Two independent cases of Witch's Broom were identified, one in the Merlot variety and one in the Dakapo variety. Both cases and their wild-type counterparts were sequenced using Illumina and Oxford Nanopore sequencing to identify genetic variants and a potential genetic basis.

女巫扫帚病（Witch's Broom）是葡萄藤中一类反复出现的芽变（bud sport），可引发严重的发育缺陷。本研究共鉴定出两例独立的女巫扫帚病病例，分别出现在梅洛（Merlot）葡萄品种与达卡波（Dakapo）葡萄品种中。针对这两例病例及其对应的野生型材料，研究人员采用Illumina测序技术与牛津纳米孔（Oxford Nanopore）测序技术进行了测序，以识别其中的遗传变异并探寻潜在的遗传基础。
