Aureobasidium subglaciale genome sequencing and assembly of 15 environmental strains

Aureobasidium subglaciale is a sister group of the cosmopolitan and biotechnologically important black yeast Aureobasidium pullulans. Unlike the latter species, only a few isolates of A. subglaciale have been found to date, almost all from cold environments. 15 environmental isolates were genome sequenced to investigate the population structure of the species and to facilitate future studies of this rarely found yeast.

亚寒带出芽短梗霉（Aureobasidium subglaciale）是广布且具有重要生物技术价值的黑酵母——出芽短梗霉（Aureobasidium pullulans）的姊妹支系。与后者不同，迄今为止仅发现了少量亚寒带出芽短梗霉的分离菌株，且这些菌株几乎全部来自寒冷生境。本研究对15株环境分离株开展了基因组测序，以解析该物种的种群结构，并为今后针对这一罕见酵母的相关研究提供便利。
