Located below the Beulah Reservoir along the North Fork Malheur River, Agency Valley, Oregon, sites NFM1, NFM2, NFM3, and NFM4 represent pits excavated in gravely and fine-grained Holocene terraces (Tessa Harden, personal communication March, 2015). Excavations produced eight bulk soil and eight detrital charcoal samples for identification of charred floral remains suitable for AMS radiocarbon age determination (Tessa Harden, personal communication March, 2015). In addition, one bulk sample underwent microscopic charcoal recovery due to insufficient macroscopic charcoal. Following identification of recovered botanic
material and detrital charcoal, three charcoal samples and one microscopic charcoal sample were submitted for AMS radiocarbon analysis.
位于俄勒冈州埃真尼谷(Agency Valley)马尔赫尔河北支(North Fork Malheur River)沿岸比尤拉水库(Beulah Reservoir)下方的NFM1、NFM2、NFM3及NFM4四处遗址,均为在砾质与细粒全新世(Holocene)阶地中发掘的探坑(特莎·哈登,2015年3月私人通信)。本次发掘共采集8份混合土壤样品与8份碎屑炭样品,用于鉴定适用于加速器质谱(AMS)放射性碳定年的炭化植物遗存(特莎·哈登,2015年3月私人通信)。此外,因宏观炭屑存量不足,另有1份混合样品开展了显微炭屑提取工作。在完成回收植物遗存与碎屑炭的鉴定工作后,共计3份炭屑样品与1份显微炭屑样品被提交用于加速器质谱放射性碳分析。
