Ralstonia pickettii ICMP-8657 Genome sequencing and assembly

Strain ICMP-8657 was formerly taxonomically classified as Burkholderia glumae and reported to be the putative producer of an antibacterial pyrazole derivative. The genome sequencing project should initially clarify the biosynthetic locus and capacity to produce the antibacterial compound, but led also to its taxonomic re-classification as Ralstonia pickettii ICMP-8657.
