Bourdieu in American Sociology

The dataset consists of 1,479 journal articles published in 20 sociology journals that were published between 1970 and 2010 and cite the French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu. Citations were checked using the Social Science Citation Index (SSCI). The 20 journals are: • American Journal of Economics and Sociology • American Journal of Sociology • American Sociological Revue • Gender & Society • Journal of Health and Social Behavior • Journal of Marriage and Family • Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion • Law & Society Review • Poetics • Social Forces • Social Problems • Social Psychology Quarterly • Social Science History • Social Studies of Science • Sociology of Education • Sociological Forum • Sociological Perspectives • Sociological Quarterly • Sociological Theory • Theory and Society Metadata on these journal articles were mostly taken from JSTOR DfR.
