Observations of Astrid, Sanae, and Mertz emperor penguin colonies, 1984-2024.

A catalogue of all dates the Sanae, Astrid, and Mertz colonies were observed in remote sensing imagery, as per Macdonald et al. (in review), 'Response of emperor penguins to 40 years of changing ice conditions at the Astrid, Mertz, and Sanae colonies using satellite remote sensing (1984-2024)'. The dataset catalogues all dates when there was an image of some usefulness and records whether guano was present or not at the site, and which surface type the guano was on, as indicated by an 'x' in the relevant cell. A '~' indicates that it was not clearly visible (primarily due to cloud), but was visible nevertheless.

本数据集收录了桑厄（Sanae）、阿斯特丽德（Astrid）与默茨（Mertz）三个帝企鹅聚居地的遥感影像观测日期全量记录，数据引自Macdonald等人（审稿中）的研究论文《1984-2024年基于卫星遥感的40年海冰变化对阿斯特丽德、默茨与桑厄聚居地帝企鹅的影响》。本数据集同时登记了所有具备有效观测价值的影像日期，并记录对应观测点是否存在企鹅粪（guano）以及该粪团附着的地表类型，相关单元格内标记的"x"即代表上述观测信息完整明确。若单元格标记为"~"，则表示该区域主要因云层遮挡未能清晰识别，但仍可确认存在有效观测痕迹。
