Development of novel universal primers in the true grasses to amplify and sequence the functional core of Acetolactate Synthase.. Sequencing of Acetolactate Synthase genes in the grass family using novel universal primers

Two novel primers were developed to sequence all the regions in Acetolactate synthase from grasses in which herbicide inhibiting mutations have been described. These primers were employed to characterize new ALS mutants in sugarcane. The primers were designed to be universal to true grasses and new ALS genes were amplified and sequenced for a range of species across the BOP and PACMAD clades.

本研究开发了两款新型引物，可针对已报道存在除草剂抑制相关突变的禾本科植物的乙酰乳酸合酶（Acetolactate synthase，ALS）全区域完成测序。随后，研究人员利用该引物对甘蔗中的新型ALS突变体进行了表征。该引物被设计为可通用适配真禾草类，同时针对BOP与PACMAD两大进化枝中的多个物种类群，完成了新型ALS基因的扩增与测序工作。
