10k German

The 10k German News Article Dataset consists of 10273 German language news articles from the online Austrian newspaper website DER Standard. Each news article has been classified into one of 9 categories by professional forum moderators employed by the newspaper. This dataset is extended from the original One Million Posts Corpus. The dataset was created to support topic classification in German because a classifier effective on a English dataset may not be as effective on a German dataset due to higher inflections and longer compound words. Additionally, this dataset can be used as a benchmark dataset for German topic classification.

万条德语新闻文章数据集（10k German News Article Dataset）包含来自奥地利在线报纸网站DER Standard的10273篇德语新闻文章。每篇新闻文章均由该报社聘任的专业论坛版主划分为9个类别之一。本数据集由原始百万帖语料库（One Million Posts Corpus）扩展而来。该数据集的构建初衷为支持德语主题分类任务：鉴于德语存在更为丰富的词形变化与更长的复合词，在英语数据集上表现优异的分类器，在德语数据集上往往难以达到同等效果。此外，本数据集可作为德语主题分类任务的基准数据集。
