The human ear is a new feature in biometrics that has several merits over the more common face, fingerprint and iris biometrics. It can be easily captured from a distance without a fully cooperative subject. Also, the ear has a relatively stable structure that does not change much with the age and facial expressions. We present a novel method of 3D ear acquisition system by using triangulation imaging principle, and the experiment results show that this design is efficient and can be used for ear recognition.

人耳是生物识别(biometrics)领域的新兴特征之一,相较于当前主流的人脸、指纹及虹膜生物特征,具备多项显著优势。无需受试者完全配合,即可在远距离环境下轻松完成采集。此外,人耳结构相对稳定,不会随年龄增长及面部表情变化出现明显改变。本研究提出一种基于三角测量成像原理的新型三维人耳采集系统方案,实验结果表明该设计高效可行,可应用于人耳识别任务。
