This statistic illustrates the share of respondents that personally chose electronic devices for their household in the United Kingdom (UK) in 2017, by type of device. The top three devices that were personally chosen in households were: smartphones, TV sets, and landline phones. These three devices had shares of 85, 76 and 60 percent respectively.The TV set and landline phone were present in households for many years now, but smartphones' popularity grew by a large margin in recent years. The ownership of smartphones increased considerably in recent years, and not just for young people. Older generations' ownership of smartphones also increased.
