Dataset for "Cytotoxicity of Endophytic Fungi Extracts of Mangrove Roots Acanthus ilicifolius from Indonesia"

This research evaluated the cytotoxicity of fungal extracts from A. ilicifolius roots in Indonesia. Toxicity screening using the brine shrimp lethality test identified five highly toxic extracts (LC50 values = 14.94–37.48 µg/mL) derived from Penicillium javanicum 2RA6, Talaromyces stipitatus 2RA11, Fusarium proliferatum 2RB4, T.oumae-annae 2RB6, and Aspergillus versicolor 2RB5. The extracts from P. javanicum 2RA6 cultured under neutral- and acidic-pH conditions are tested for cytotoxicity against MCF-7 breast cancer cells. The extract obtained under acidic conditions showed enhanced activity (IC50 = 260 µg/mL) compared with the neutral-pH extract (IC50 = 315 µg/mL) and demonstrated apoptotic induction.
