The genome of Streptomyces lavenduligriseus Tu901 was sequenced and assembled with the goal of identifying the biosnythetic gene cluster responsible for the production of the morphogenic lanthipeptide SapT. The organism was previously reported as Streptomyces tendae Tu901 (ATCC 31160) but renamed based on the sequenced genome.
