Samples have been collected from the Celtic Sea between August 2014 and July 2015 for the determination of triple oxygen isotopes and biological oxygen supersaturation, relative to air-saturated water. Samples were collected during four RRS Discovery cruises (DY018, DY026, DY029 and DY033), from both CTD hydrocasts and the ship's underway seawater supply. Dissolved gas concentrations and isotopologue ratios of molecular oxygen in water samples were determined by mass spectrometry and measurement results used for the calculation of net and gross oxygen production. This work was undertaken by the University of East Anglia as part of the NERC-funded Shelf Sea Biogeochemistry programme under work package 1: Carbon and Nutrient Dynamics and Fluxes over Shelf Systems.
