Characteristics of litters from which the high and low gilts were selected and reproductive characteristics of the selected low and high BW gilts used in the study.

The following characteristics of litters used for gilt selection are presented: average litter birth weight (BW) in which selected gilts were born (kg), the mean BW of selected gilts (kg), the mean litter size and average parity of dams, as well as calculated Z-scores controlling for total born litter size and parity.
