Asian cultivated rice (Oryza sativa L.), domesticated from common wild rice (Oryza rufipogon Griff.), is one of the most-consumed staple foods in the world. The rhizospheric microbiome plays vital roles in the growth and production of rice. However, the response of rhizospheric microbial community structures to agricultural management and natural environmental shifts and the differences between cultivated rice and its wild relative are largely unknown. To understand these questions, in this study, the rhizospheric microbiomes of rice from paddy fields (cultivated rice) and from natural ecosystems (wild rice) were compared on a regional scale using high-throughput sequencing.

亚洲栽培稻(Oryza sativa L.)由普通野生稻(Oryza rufipogon Griff.)驯化而来,是全球最主要的主食作物之一。根际微生物组(rhizospheric microbiome)在水稻生长与产量形成过程中发挥着关键作用。然而,根际微生物群落结构对农业管理措施及自然环境变迁的响应规律,以及栽培稻与其野生近缘种之间的根际微生物组差异,目前仍未得到充分阐明。为解答上述科学问题,本研究借助高通量测序(high-throughput sequencing)技术,在区域尺度上对比了稻田栽培稻与自然生态系统中野生稻的根际微生物组。
