A global database on the potential of cover crops on maize performance

This database includes 5185 comparisons totalling 53127 observations from 275 publications between 1967 and 2022, worldwide. This database has been used to perform a global meta-analysis to investigate whether management practices and environmental conditions related to cover crops (i.e. explanatory variables) affect maize seed germination and seedling emergence, roots colonization by arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi, plant height, biomass growth, and yield (i.e. response variables) compared to a no cover crop treatment (i.e. control).
