本数据集包含三类尺度的遥感数据，由除TRMM与DMSP系列卫星外的新一代遥感卫星（包括TERRA、AQUA、ADEOS-II）获取；这些卫星在CEOP观测时段内强化了观测能力，可用于量化关键大气、地表、水文及海洋学数据。针对35至51个原位参考站点，存档有最高分辨率的原始辐射亮度遥感数据（附带地理坐标，即Level 1级数据），其空间覆盖为250千米见方的快照区域。
