The dataset contains miRNA pEV profiles measured on Agilent Microarrays from three groups of melanoma patients (before or at resection, and after resection categorized into high-risk and low-risk groups) and healthy controls. These groups were compared to find differentially abundant miRNAs in the pEV of melanoma patients. In addition, two comparisons of short-term profile changes around the resection date are included, as well as six cell line sEV that play a role for the accompanying publication. The four groups (14 healthy controls and 14 tumor, 15 high-risk, 11 low-risk patients) were subjected to differential expression analysis. The additional pEV samples served illustrational purposes as outgroup comparisons, and the six cell line samples were employed in an attempt to elucidate the putative source tissue of the pEV. -------------------------------------- There are two subsets: the first one consists of the above mentioned patient samples and was used for the differential expression analysis in melanoma context, which is why there are only 54 columns in the normalized matrix. The remainder of the samples were used in very specific comparative analyses with the groups from the first subset. These two approaches have completely different scopes and subgroup-dependent normalizations were performed as necessary.
